Glean opened in July 2013, and is the first store of its kind in Ohio that sells handmade, mostly local goods for home, body, and life that are made from reclaimed and repurposed materials. Glean predominately features local artisans, who reinvent jewelry, clothing, art, candles and much more, in an imaginative and up-cycled way.
Don’t let the 200 square foot space underwhelm you. Represented are a myriad of unique, one-of-a-kind items currently made by 62 artisans, with 59 of them being local. The owner makes many of the items found in the store as well, and is always there to answer questions, take special orders and to tell you the other artisan’s stories, if you are interested, since she knows all of them! Additionally, Glean has been in the “Best of” gift list in The Columbus Dispatch, Columbus Monthly, and Capital Style. They won a 2014 “Best of Columbus” award for Subterranean Finds and have been mentioned as a “must see” in Capital Style and The Columbus Dispatch by fashion editor Kristy Eckert. Come and see what all of the fuss is about.
