Counterfeit Madison is the musical manifestation of Columbus resident Sharon Udoh. A versatile artist, her funky-yet-classical piano playing and gospel-tinged voice—punctuated by the occasional burst of ecstasy—make for an experience that surpasses genre in the warmest, most welcoming of ways.
Check out her magnetic on-stage presence and poignant songwriting at this local release party for her second full-length album, Opposable Thumbs (Anyway Records), due out on vinyl in late October 2017. Counterfeit Madison will be joined by fellow Columbus-based artists Correy Parks, Mary Lynn, and Corbezzolo on this evening that will give you goosebumps, a soulful two-step, and everything in between.
