Find out what life is like for people who live in The Gambia and learn about the creative ways Gambian women are transforming trash into handicrafts and a more prosperous life.

From noon-1:30 on Saturday, April 1st, Global Gifts, located at 682 N.High St., will host students from the OSU Engineers Without Borders organization. Members of the group will be reading the children’s book One Plastic Bag which is the story of Isatou Ceesay who found creative ways to recycle discarded plastic bags in Njau, Gambia and has turned this work into an environmentally-friendly and economically sustainable opportunity for herself and other women in The Gambia. The students will also talk about their experiences working in The Gambia and will have some of the handicrafts that Isatou’s group has made available for purchase. For more information and to RSVP to this event, visit our Facebook event here.
