“Fair Trade Inspired”: A Short North Collaboration

In collaboration with Global Gifts Short North, Studios on High Gallery artists honor fair trade artisans with an exhibit of original local art inspired by handcrafted work from around the globe, available at Global Gifts, called Fair Trade Inspired. 10% of proceeds will be donated to Imani Workshops – a fair trade artisan group in Kenya which provides economic opportunities for people who are HIV positive or have AIDS.
ABOUT STUDIOS ON HIGH GALLERY
Voted Best Gallery by Columbus Monthly readers in 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, and 2018, Studios on High Gallery is Columbus’ premiere artist-owned-and-operated gallery. Established in 1987, SOHG is located in the heart of the city’s energetic Short North Arts District. A juried gallery of 22 exceptional, local artists, SOHG presents a unique blend of fine art and craft. Artists work onsite during gallery hours, creating paintings, mosaics, ceramics, jewelry, wearables and sculpture.

Global Gifts, a nonprofit organization, has provided a marketplace for certified fair trade goods for over 30 years in Indiana and the Short North Arts District in Columbus, Ohio. Their shops are run by a small paid staff and a team of volunteers. They offer unique artisan-made home decor, jewelry, clothing, coffee, chocolate, and more from over 40 countries.
