Filmed at New York City’s bustling Metropolitan Hospital, Wiseman’s Hospital paints a compelling and poignant portrait of how the individual (patient, nurse, doctor) functions within the bureaucracy of a large caregiving institution. Now 46 years old, the film includes the still-familiar scene of a woman being denied coverage due to a preexisting condition. (84 mins., 35mm)
