Mid-century paintings from Scandinavia and the United States will be on display, including pieces by Eric With, Robert Aaron Frame, and Eli Fransen. Hammond Harkins Galleries is featuring Small and Wonderful until January 10. Stop in and discover the gift of art for the special people in your life.

Works by twenty-one artists in various mediums will be on display in their beautiful new space. Highlights include newly acquired works by Aminah Robinson, Ohio landscapes by Paul Hamilton, a painting by Carol Stewart previously on display at the Butler Institute of American Art, and a painting by Sarah Fairchild that inspired the set design for Opera Columbus’ 2015 production of Armide.

Ashley Pierce will be at Lindsay Gallery for the month of January. Ashley Pierce was born and raised in Columbus and has been involved in the arts since childhood, finishing her junior and senior years of high school in the vocational Fine Arts program at Ft. Hayes. Her excitement for the arts and enthusiasm for working with people with disabilities are currently reflected in her work as an art facilitator. Her love for illustration and spray paint can be seen in her personal art work, usually featuring fearsome and funny monsters and robots.

The exhibition is organized to reflect timely and potent issues of social justice and current affairs across the world. There exists a long history of artists as social critics from Goya to Manet. Artists are in the unique position to create things of beauty that inspire reflection, elevate our consciousness, and fuel a sense of responsibility.

ROY G BIV Gallery partners with the Ohio Art League to present Small Works & Thumb Box, a special exhibition of small and affordable artwork by member artists. This exhibition fills the gallery with a variety artwork in all styles and mediums. The work is on display at ROY G BIV Gallery until January 30 at 997 N. High St. Hours: 1 to 6 pm Wednesdays through Sundays.

SCGO is featuring Dana Lynn Harper: Sweet Spot, a mixed media sculpture and installation until January 30, 2016. Gallery Hop reception will be on January 2, 2016 from 6:00-10:00pm.

Dana Lynn Harper received her MFA in sculpture from Penn State University in 2013, exhibits extensively in solo and group exhibitions, and was recently selected for the Short North Arts District’s 2015-2016 Blank Spaces Temporary Mural Series sponsored by ROY G BIV Gallery.

First Commonwealth Bank will be featuring local artist, Steve Jebbett, for the month of January. Steve is a Freelance Artist based in Clintonville. His styles range from tight pen & ink work to multi-medium paintings, to 3D toy production. Steve will greet guests at the January Gallery Hop so stop by from 5:00-8:00pm to enjoy his artwork. This month House Beer is featuring Monster Madness by Evan Wolff. Printed enlargements of select illustrations from 2012’s “Monster Madness” zine. The zine, printed in limited quantities, contained roughly 100 little illustrated creatures.

Mouton, in association with TommyQ, presents “L’atelier de Cocktail”, an interesting assemblage of vintage and antique primitive objects of meri all available for purchase. Many of the items saw daily use in 19th century American barns and farmhouses. Among the many interesting items is this early 19th century sleigh bench, made by the Shakers at New Lebanon, New York. It was collected by the pioneering Shaker scholars, Edward Deming and Faith Andrews, who were the authors of the very first books about the Shakers and their furniture.
