Joseph EditionsJoseph Editions
Joseph Editions will feature Laura Sanders, In Our Nature until June 30. Joseph Editions will be open until 8:30pm on Gallery Hop Saturday.

Columbus artist Laura Sanders has garnered a devoted collector following for her ostensibly photorealistic paintings, which on closer inspection reveal fluid brush strokes that wed form with content. In this show, she dives more deeply into contemporary society’s relationship with nature. Plastics, a ubiquitous symbol of unsustainability, are paired with sun-dappled girls, branches, and blossoms. Her paintings celebrate natural beauty while reminding us how we have irrevocably changed our environment.

WexnerCenterWexner Center for the Arts
See Bleak Street on Friday, June 3 at 7:00pm or on Gallery Hop Saturday, June 4 at 7:00pm at Wexner Center for the Arts.

Even though the 73 -year-old Mexican filmmaker Arturo Ripstein is one of the titans of international cinema, few of his films have been distributed in the U.S. Ripstein serves as the crucial link between Mexico’s studio era and the new generation of auteurs such as Carlos Reygadas and Guillermo del Toro.
Bleak Street, Ripstein’s 29th film, is a bizarre, ripped-from-the-headlines crime story of twin mini luchadores who never remove their masks, the mother who adores them, and more intrigue.

See the Martin Wong: Human Instamatic at The Wexner Center on Gallery Hop Saturday, on view until Sunday, August 7.
