Day of the Week: Thursday
Ditch the boys for a night on the town with your girlfriends and try some of our Short North nightlife favorites; after all, "girls just wanna have fun!"
Around 7 pm start your evening with a cocktail and appetizer at Deepwood (511 N. High St.). Stop in for the Boardwalk—made of Grey Goose citron vodka, Deepwood’s house-made lemonade, Chambord, and Grand Marnier. If you’re more of a whiskey girl, try the Red Smoke and Sour. This cocktail is made with Johnnie Walker Red, house-made sour mix, and triple sec. These can be easily paired with the scallops (combined with spice-grilled watermelon, cantaloupe, grapes, mache and campari beurre blanc). Now that you've got your evening started, head to your next stop:
Marcella’s Ristorante, Pizzeria & Wine Bar (615 N. High St.). Dish the dirt while sharing great food in this vibrant Italian cafe. Must-try small-plate favorites include melted pecorino cheese with crostini, apple, and truffle honey; braised veal meatball in a simple tomato sauce with a light dusting of parmesan; and classic Neapolitan stone oven Margherita D.O.C. pizza. Pair your selections with Marcella’s house-made sangria. Try the snappy, sweet citrus white or refreshing primativo red. Make reservations to be assured a table.
Here's the fork in the road. Do you want to wind it down? Or ramp it up?
Wind it down: Head across the street to MoJoe Lounge (600 N. High St.) for the best in coffee, tantalizing desserts and nightcaps.
Ramp it up: Head to the north end of the District (take a pedi-cab!) to Skully’s Music-Diner (1151 N. High St.) for Ladies '80s Night with DJ Chuckstar. Voted best Ladies Night 8 years running, the dance floor pulses 'til 2:30 with the sounds of Cyndi Lauper, Depeche Mode and The Go Go's. Take advantage of the free cover and complimentary gift: a long stem rose.
Parking Tips:
Starting out: Simplify your evening by taking advantage of the valet service at Deepwood. Just make sure you check with the valet for service times.
