When is Gallery Hop?
Gallery Hop is the first Saturday of the month, from 4:00pm to 10:00pm, every month of the year. In 2015, the Short North Arts District celebrated 30 years of Gallery Hop, which began as a collective art opening and continues to be one of the most anticipated monthly arts events in Columbus.
What activities are there to do in the Short North Arts District?
There is something for everyone in the Short North Arts District. Dine at one of the many restaurants in the District, view and collect art in the galleries, or shop for clothes, gifts, and more at the Short North Arts District’s retail stores.
I’m bringing a tour group to the Short North Arts District. What activities can I schedule for our visit?
There are a number of different hands-on activities for tour groups including candle-making, mead-tasting, beauty workshops, and arts experiences. For more details, check out DIY Workshops & Educational.
What time are the Short North Arts District shops and galleries open?
Each shop or gallery is independently owned and operated, with their own business hours. Core business hours are between 12:00pm to 5:00pm, with many locations open earlier or later. Visit the Shopping and Arts & Galleries pages to get more specific information on hours of operation.
I want to plan a private event. Where can I host it?
What is HighBall and when does it take place?
HighBall is the nation’s fiercest costume party. Staged in the fashion capital of Columbus, this yearly event for the Halloween season bridges runway style with the culture of the Short North Arts District. Be a part of the HighBall street spectacle and model yourself on High Street. At HighBall, you are what you wear.
HighBall occurs on the weekend prior to Halloween, and is scheduled for October 21-22, 2016.
Can I take a walking tour?
The Short North Arts District is very walkable area, perfect for a self-guided tour. Check out the public art that lines High Street or the exciting store fronts that are typically seasonally decorated, always with artistic flair.
