ZenGenius is looking for a Part-time Bookkeeper!

Position summary: The bookkeeper performs duties such as financial record keeping, data entry, account reconciliation, processing payroll, audit preparation, and other miscellaneous tasks related to accounting.

Key responsibilities/outputs:
• Maintain files, accounting records, financial statements, or other financial reports.
• Assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards.
• Update accounts receivable and issue invoices.
• Update accounts payable and perform reconciliations.
• Review and process expense reports.
• Monitor and resolve bank issues including fee anomalies and check differences.
• Reconcile and maintain balance sheet accounts.
• Prepare journal entries.
• Assist with monthly closing and preparation of monthly financial statements.
• Prepare analysis of accounts as requested.
• Assist in the preparation of yearly closings.
• Prepare summaries of financial status by collecting information; preparing balance sheet,
profit and loss statement, and other reports.
• Assist with implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
• Monitor and maintain petty cash fund.

Credentials, Education and Experience:
• Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience is required.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and practices
• 5+ years of general accounting experience is required
• 5+ years of experience using QuickBooks Pro and QuickBooks Online is required
• 3+ years of experience using Microsoft Office – including Excel and Word

Work Environment:
• This position works in a business office. Professionalism and discretion are required.
• Position will be required to communicate with vendors and other stakeholders.
