While the landscapes capture moments at once dramatic and intimate, the still lifes express a minimalism both serene and contemplative. In each instance, Hamilton puts a contemporary spin on a classic genre and leaves room for wonder. Also on display will be a new landscape installation consisting of 54 panels. Painterly and abstract up close, the panels merge into a single, coherent image from a distance. It is a monumental work to be seen in person.

Every piece represents a being with its own heroism, poetry, and a desperate desire for life. Imago Dei is Latin for Image of God. The artist’s works are an exploration of theology, ecology, and the interaction of humanity with wildlife. Are these created images all that will be left before it is too late? Can humans share in the experience of transformation?

Inspired by the connection between the maker and the wearer, Mikelle Hickman-Romine is a Columbus, Ohio-based jewelry designer. Her “fine beadwork” is an innovative blend of peyote stitched components, gems, pearl beads, and wire work that merges to create lightweight, wearable, fashion-forward, one-of-a-kind stunners.
