Head to the Short North Arts District for the first Sunday Bazaar on August 18 to enjoy more than 30 artists, performers, and retail and food pop-ups in over 25 local businesses
Sunday Bazaar in the Short North Arts District will debut on August 18, from 11:00am to 4:00pm, with participating businesses featuring more than 30 experiences in and outside of their stores, including artist demonstrations, performances, pop-up vendors, bites and beverages, and more.
Shoppers who make purchases during Sunday Bazaar at participating businesses will receive a complimentary Sunday Bazaar canvas tote bag, while supplies last. The August event will also feature the continued live painting of The Journey mural project on the Graduate Hotel, as well as new mural panels created by local artist-in-residency program participants on August 11, in a masterclass led by The Journey artists Ryan “Yanoe” Sarfati and Eric “Zoueh” Skotnes.
A second Sunday Bazaar in the Short North Arts District will take place on Sunday, September 15, from 11:00am to 4:00pm. RSVP on Facebook to let your friends know you’ll be there!
Short North Arts District businesses participating in the August 18 event include:
(Not) Sheep Gallery will feature artist Juliellen Byrne painting her political plates in the gallery and Deborah Griffing providing a sewing and construction demonstration of her fabric sculptures. Appetizers will be provided by The Table and Rock, Salt & Nails, a bluegrass band with Priscilla Roggenkamp, will play for an hour. Sunday Bazaar shoppers will also receive a free (Not) Sheep Gallery t-shirt, while supplies last.
Ampersand Asian Supper Club will feature local guitarists outside of the restaurant.
Columbus Food Adventures will offer a special Short North Food Tour on Sunday.
Glean will host singer-songwriter Matthew Neill outside of the store.
Global Gifts will feature band and tapestry weaving and spinning demonstrations by local artist Kim Molitor, a sidewalk pop-up, and Fair Trade coffee and treat samples.
Jacob Neal Home Collection will feature a pop-up with designer-inspired leather goods.
Jolie Occasions will host The Cheesecake Girl for a pop-up. Sunday Bazaar shoppers can also get ready for Breakaway Music Festival with giveaways and a rack of “festival outfits” that will be 10% off with proof of a Breakaway Music Festival ticket.
Ladybird will host a pop-up with Belinda Smith of St. Rose fragrances and beverages and light bites from Quinci Emporium.
Luxe Redux Bridal will feature a tasty pop-up by Pook’s Baked Goods.
Marcia Evans Gallery will feature local artist Robie Benve, who will be working on and selling Short North scenes and more; handmade gemstone jewelry by Dareen Wearstler of Local Better Earth Products; and candles by Swan Creek, made here in Ohio. All Sunday Bazaar shoppers will receive 10% off anything in the gallery.
Prologue Bookshop will have bargain books available on the sidewalk.
Red Giraffe Designs will host musician Scotty G outside of the shop.
Rowe will feature pop-ups by The Tart Peach Lipstick, kids clothing by Mrly, and From Scratch Cupcakes.
SAMSON…A Men’s Emporium will host musician Parker Louis outside of the shop, as well as drinks inside for Sunday Bazaar shoppers to cool off.
Sherrie Gallerie will feature artist pop-ups and demonstrations by Michael Kaiser, Laine Bachman, and Marilyn Parker, as well as a musician outside of the gallery.
Sole Classics will feature a “For the Makers” event with music, drinks, and more for the release of the Vans for the Makers pack.
STORE 5a will offer light drinks and hors d’oeuvres as well live music.
Studios on High Gallery will feature exhibiting artists demonstrating their creative process.
Tastings Wine Experience will open its bar early and offer its $5 red and $5 white happy hour glass pricing during the event. While grabbing a drink, get a drink-inspired candle from Brewberry Wicks.
The Blowout Bar will host a pop-up by The Potion Matcha Bar.
The Candle Lab invites Sunday Bazaar shoppers to stop by for good vibes! Dani Sage of The Good Vibes Hive, aka Modern Mystic, will be sharing her magic via $5 Tarot Card Readings. Get a reading and purchase from her collection of healing crystals.
The Optical. Co invites you to engage your senses during the Sunday Bazaar and enjoy live music while you check out the latest frames.
The Paper Daisy Flower Boutique will host a pop-up and live painting by a local artist in the shop.
THREAD’s stylists are ready to get Sunday Bazaar shoppers styled for Fall! Thread will feature treats, shoppers’ favorite designers, and a sale rack of last chance summer items and a chance to get a discount or gift with purchase!
