In addition, gallery hoppers can enjoy local performers, vendors, and more throughout High St.

MAY GALLERY EXHIBITIONS

During the May Gallery Hop, 83 Gallery, will showcase over 180 pieces of local artwork from 66 different artists. In addition to their monthly group show, 83 Gallery hosts “Feather and Friends,” a curated Market of local artists and creatives. With artwork starting at $50, this show has something for everyone. Stop by, enjoy a glass of Mead, and support local artists.

Brandt-Roberts Galleries | 642 N High St.

Brandt-Roberts Galleries is delighted to present a Group Show of BRG artists Christopher Burk, Jane Carney, Teri Dryden, Cody Heichel, Jeffrey Hirst, Richard Lillash, and visiting artists Mark Bush and Alejandro Botubul.

The seven artists included in this exhibition will show the versatility of using the window as their subject, some literally, others metaphorically.

Hammond Harkins Galleries | 641 N High St.

“In Black & White” features three artists, Annie Chrissy Burley, Ron Stephens, and Aminah Robinson, whose works overlap in themes and technique. The works of each artist are inspired by personal experience and a vision of community that is inclusive and accurate in its representations. And all of them, which include mixed media, woodblock prints, and graphite drawings, are in black and white.

Marcia Evans Gallery | 8 E Lincoln St.

Stop by Marcia Evans Gallery during the May Gallery Hop to see their solo show for Columbus artist Betsy DeFusco. This exhibit explores DeFusco’s walks through German Village during the Pandemic, with many photos of flowers and plants as subjects for her paintings.

Pizzuti Collection of the Columbus Museum of Art | 632 Park St

Pizzuti Collection of the Columbus Museum of Art

“Greater Columbus” features work by artists in central Ohio who have been recognized for their outstanding talent. The exhibition represents a continuing partnership between the Columbus Museum of Art (CMA) and the Greater Columbus Arts Council (GCAC). Featured artists include Hannah Parrett, Benedict Scheuer, Matelli Graves, Roger Beebe, George Rush, and Joshua Penrose. Presented biennially, “Greater Columbus” features work by outstanding artists based in central Ohio. 

Also on view: “Was It Your Trigger Finger?” featuring work by artist Bobby T. Luck. Focusing on decolonizing modern imagery and media, Luck’s work re-imagines globalization and the self by breaking down diplomatic and emotional borders through film, collage, and sculpture.

Sean Christopher Gallery Ohio | 815 N High St. Ste H

Sean Christopher Gallery Ohio is announcing the Sixth Annual Old School Invitational to open during the May Gallery Hop from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. with a public reception. This year, they celebrate a Fifty Year Reunion by featuring recent artwork by select former art students from the then-incoming 1973 Columbus College of Art and Design Freshman Class.

The exhibition will continue through June 3, ending with a closing reception from 4 to 8 p.m. during the June Gallery Hop.

Sharon Weiss Gallery presents “Anita Dawson Solo Exhibition: Histories and Mysteries.” During the May Gallery Hop, there will be an opening reception from 1 to 7 p.m. available to the public.

Studios On High Gallery | 686 N. High St.

During the May Gallery Hop, Studios on High Gallery will exhibit their show “Along the Way.” Part retrospective, part current exploration, this show features decades of the artist Bill Meyer’s creative journey and artistic exploration. Utilizing a variety of media and techniques, including drawings, ceramics, and digital art, Meyer takes the viewer on a very personal tour of his life, his experiences, and his growth as both an artist and a human.

Art Spot | See Map for Locations

Art lovers are encouraged to explore Art Spot, a collection of 13 window installations designed by Columbus-area artists located throughout the Short North Arts District and Downtown Columbus. Each installation is designed around the theme of Climate Conversations, encouraging conversations about the climate crisis and the role of art in science communication. 
Four Art Spot installations are located in the Short North Arts District between E. 4th Ave. and W. 2nd Ave. along High St. Art Spot is a project of the Greater Columbus Art Council. For more information about participating artists and locations, visit columbusmakesart.com/artspot.
