AUGUST EXHIBITIONS IN THE SHORT NORTH ARTS DISTRICT
2024 August Gallery Hop in the Short North Arts District occurs on August 3 from 4-8 p.m.
Gallery Hop is turning 40 this year! The August Gallery Hop will fill the district with new artist exhibitions, street performers, vendors and more. Art lovers and district frequenters will be exposed to specialty galleries featuring new artworks on display from a variety of local and national talented artists. In continuation of the Summer Spray Series, our Summer Spray Gallery Exhibition, located at 642C N. High St., will highlight artwork from each artists participating in this years cohort. This and every month, Gallery Hop visitors are encourage to view featured and public art, explore local boutiques, unique shops and a variety of food and dining venues throughout the Short North Arts District.
AUGUST GALLERY EXHIBITIONS
Adamah Ceramics | 641 N. High St.
Adamah Ceramics will be showcasing a curated selection of Featured Artists to mark the first six months of being open. Featured Artist Louise Enevoldson will be doing a live demonstration of her hand building techniques.
Additionally, we are excited to show the work of painter Alexandra Williams. Williams specializes in abstract nautical & landscape scenes. She primarily works in acrylic paint and oil pastels. Adamah Ceramics plans to host a reception from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm where bartender Oscar Levya will roll out the last rendition of his Summer Cocktail Series. Levya’s theme is ‘International Libations.’ You can expect to enjoy your craft cocktail alongside the featured artists and light refreshments!

Brandt-Roberts Galleries | 642 N High St.
Brandt-Roberts Galleries will be extending our feature of new mixed-media pieces from Chicago-based artist Jane Carney. Carney’s newest body of work approaches mixed media collage in a more minimalistic fashion. Comprised of monochromatic hues, swathes of canary yellow, florescent pink and dapples of chartreuse and baby blue, these medium and large-scale pieces reflect Carney’s playful exploration of freedom and structure.

Gallerie by CFA | 1241 N High St.
Gallerie by CFA, a unique fusion of art and retail, invites you to celebrate gallery hop in a space that will captivate art enthusiasts, shoppers and retail brands alike. The gallery-inspired retail store, located at 1241 North High St., welcomes guests with an evening of creativity, style and sophistication. August Gallery Hop will feature the CFA internship pop-up, “NO ADMIN.” from 10am-8pm. This Gallery Hop will also feature a live DJ and a special release of merchandise.

Jennifer Sowders “Landscapes” Ohio native and CCAD Graduate, Jennifer paints lush and colorful Landscapes with an impressionistic feel, that invites the viewer to take a stroll on the photographic like paths to experience the feeling of nature.

Sean Christopher Gallery (SCG) August Exhibition will feature “Stage Paintings by Chris Taylor”. Artist reception will be held on Saturday August 3, 4-9pm during the Short North Arts District monthly Gallery Hop. This Solo Exhibition will Continue thru August 10th during regular hours or by-appointment.

Sharon Weiss Gallery | 20 E Lincoln St.
The Sharon Weiss Gallery will be an open Salon Exhibit for the month of August. Salon exhibits are a perfect opportunity for gallery artists to highlight their new artwork and see it displayed with their fellow gallery artists. In addition, these broad showcases are an excellent way to see many styles of artwork hung together and to see first hand how various styles may work in a home environment.

The Little Blue House by Sharon Weiss Gallery | 24 E Lincoln St.
Join us at 24 E. Lincoln St. for the Short North Arts District Gallery Hop. 24 Lincoln St. Art Studios fondly known as the Little Blue House by Sharon Weiss Gallery. This historic home houses five working studios and a gallery. The month of August will feature the works of all five artists Amy Adams, Moon Evans, Lisa Parks Godfrey, Karen LaValley and Tamar Rudavsky.

Studios On High Gallery | 686 N. High St.
Susan Rossiter’s acrylic and handmade paper assemblages are inspired by mid-century textile artists. In this exhibition, the artist explores the charisma inherent in repetition, pattern and design. Inspired by the colors, shapes, and patterns of the 50s, 60s and 70s, Ms. Rossiter’s works are described as both modern and retro. Her pieces are the result of joyful experimentation with texture and composition, incorporating acrylics, handmade paper assemblages and unique and whimsical collage elements.

Summer Spray Gallery Exhibition | 642C N High St.
Check out artwork from the 2024 Summer Spray Muralists at the newest pop-up gallery in the Short North Arts District. This pop-up exhibition will feature artwork from 9 selected artists who are participating in this year’s mural series on Goodale and High St. The exhibition will be open for viewing from July 6 until Sept 7.

Winans Coffee & Chocolate is debuting a pop-up gallery within the coffee shop featuring a new artists every month in the pop-up space. For August, Winans will be featuring custom ADAMAH Ceramics by local and international artists. Swing by for Art, Coffee, Chocolate and More!

The Short North Arts District’s newest comedy venue, Hashtag Comedy Company, is joining in on the excitement of Gallery Hop with their monthly series, First Saturdays with… ROT!
