This will be the 15th annual fundraiser for Annie’s Fund for the Creative Arts at Lindsay Gallery which was created to honor the memory of Robert Falcone’s late wife Dr. Anne Miller. Annie’s Fund awards grants to arts institutions and individual artists who might otherwise go unfunded.
This year Robert Falcone has created a series of hummingbirds inspired by John Gould’s (1804 – 1881) lithographic prints of finches which were crucial to Darwin’s theory of evolution by natural selection. These beautiful, but slight creatures epitomize for Falcone the fragile and tenuous condition of the science of Darwin and others in today’s political milieu.
