Four lesbians of (ahem) a certain age share stories of coming out during the transformative 70s and 80s, a time filled with obsessions about Kate Jackson, Virginia Woolf and a new import called Subaru. Softball teams were family, lesbian bookstores the scene while the legend of the almighty U-haul was created. Coming out wasn’t a tweet but a decades-long journey through minefields of family connections and professional peril, all the while negotiating the place beside our gay brothers. It’s time to remember the mullet before the fade buzz, the Phil Donahue before the Ellen, and the beautiful struggle of identity and community! Enjoy complimentary desserts and coffee at the event.
