The Short North Alliance invites you for an evening of insight from the artists behind Columbus’ latest mural project, Journey. Click here to RSVP.

Los Angeles-based artists Ryan “Yanoe” Sarfati and Eric “Zoueh” Skotnes are creating one of the city’s tallest and most innovative mural projects, which will consist of a series of three new permanent murals located on the brand-new Graduate Hotel in the Short North Arts District. Dr. Melanie Corn, President of the Columbus College of Art and Design, will take a deep dive with the artists into the creation and thought behind the Graduate Columbus Mural.

To compliment the mural, the artists are also creating an augmented reality experience that will allow members of the public to experience different scenes within the artwork through augmented reality via an app. Presently, there is only one other mural in the U.S. using augmented reality, making this a one-of-a-kind addition to the Short North Arts District and Columbus. Installation of the three permanent murals is expected to start the week of July 23, 2019 and last approximately one month, with the entire process on view for the public to enjoy. The artists will also collaborate with the Short North Alliance to lead a new artist-in-residency program in the Short North Arts District.

This event free to the public, however registration is required to attend. Seating will be available on a first-come-first-serve basis. Click here to RSVP.
