Join ROY G BIV on the last day of “ROY Spectrum: Cameron Granger, Diana Abells, Amanda Le Kline, Kate Shannon and Doo-Sung Yoo” to catch a final look at the show. There will also be a virtual reality demonstration for Doo-Sung Yoo’s project, “Becoming Leeches: episode 1 – Having Dinner.”
Artist Bios:
Cameron Granger is an award winning filmmaker and video artist, currently based in Columbus, OH. His work revolves around representations of blackness in film and media as they relate to the ‘American Dream.’ Granger is a founding member of MINT, a Columbus based art collective and a 2017 resident artist at the Skowhegan School of Painting & Sculpture. Granger’s work has screened and been exhibited in galleries and festivals both nationally and internationally.

Diana Abells is an artist living and working in Columbus, Ohio. She received a BA from St. Mary’s College of Maryland and a MFA from The Ohio State University. She has participated in residency programs at the Vermont Studio Center Residency and the Wassaic Artist Residency. She has exhibited locally at spaces such as The Shed, Skylab Gallery, EASE Gallery, Urban Arts Space and the Shot Tower Gallery. Abells is currently an adjunct lecturer in The Ohio State University’s department of art.

Amanda Le Kline is a Pennsylvania Dutch girl, hailing from Strausstown. She graduated from Lycoming College in 2008 with her Bachelor of Arts, and from The Ohio State University in 2014 with her Master of Fine Arts. She currently lives in Columbus, Ohio where she teaches at Otterbein University. Kline brings an interdisciplinary approach to her artistic practice by combining the mediums of photography, video, installation, and performance. Her research interests come from the fields of art history, anthropology, mythology, women and gender studies, and her own personal histories. She is a member of The Page Collective, an artist collaboration group that facilitates community engagement through site-specific installations.

Kate Shannon is an associate professor at The Ohio State University Mansfield. She uses digitally manipulated images to explore ideas such as desire, happiness, and loss. She has exhibited her artwork across the United States in venues such as Manifest Gallery in Cincinnati, OH; the Zhou B Art Center Gallery in Chicago, IL; The Light Factory in Charlotte, NC; and TRACTIONARTS in Los Angeles, CA. Shannon became a mother in 2017 and received a Coca-Cola Critical Difference for Women Grant for Research on Women, Gender, and Gender Equity to curate an exhibition exploring the complexities of motherhood. Shannon received her MFA from The Ohio State University and her BFA from the University of Kentucky. She currently resides in Columbus, Ohio with her husband, son, and two cats.

Doo-Sung Yoo is a Korean new media artist who works in the United States. He explores hybrid art, synthesizing natural and unnatural technology within artwork, interweaving interdisciplinary media between arts, science, and technology. He has earned two Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in Art and Technology and Visual Design and two Master of Fine Arts degrees in Art and Technology and Multimedia Animation in both the United States and Korea, respectively. He taught for video art classes at the Yewon Arts University in Korea. He has been teaching in the Art and Technology area of the Department of Art at The Ohio State University since 2010.
