Join the Wexner Center for the Arts for a showing of the 2016 documentary “Fallen Star: Finding Home” and a Q&A with one of its codirectors and the titular piece’s artist.
Do Ho Suh’s Fallen Star (2012) — a house precariously perched on the roof of the Jacobs School of Engineering at the University of California San Diego — represents both a thrilling creative realization and remarkable feat of architectural design. Vera Brunner-Sung and Valerie Stadler’s engaging documentary captures the years of planning, process, and collaboration behind this improbable artwork that has quickly become a visual landmark on the campus, home of the famed Stuart Collection of site-specific art. (50 mins., digital video.)
Codirector Brunner-Sung, assistant professor in Ohio State’s Department of Theatre, and renowned artist Do Ho Suh introduce the film and stay for a Q&A after the screening.
