Holiday Hop is an all-day open streets event in the Short North Arts District that features live performances, celebrates local creativity, and brings friends together on High Street. 

Visit the Short North Pole for a day of free holiday fun for everyone at Holiday Hop! Create new holiday memories together as High Street is transformed into a pedestrian-only winter wonderland on Saturday, December 6 from 12 – 8pm in the Short North Arts District. You’ll discover countless creative opportunities to celebrate, shop, and share in the fun with our market of 120+ artisan vendors, specials and discounts at your favorite Short North businesses, live performances, hands-on arts experiences, and more!

arts + exhibitions

Holiday Hop includes everything you love about Gallery Hop, including the opportunity to explore dynamic visual and public art throughout the Short North Arts District.

gallery exhibitions:
Experience exhibition openings from established and emerging Ohio-based artists, along with works of nationally and internationally acclaimed artists.

open walls:
The Open Walls community-made mural experience will return from its recent debut and invite visitors to leave their mark by painting on this temporary installation. Open Walls is supported by a 614 Beautiful grant from the Columbus City Council, the City of Columbus Department of Neighborhoods, and the Neighborhood Design Center, and in partnership with Lookout Supply.

Holiday Trail:
Shop small this holiday season, and earn a free treat while you do! Make purchases at five participating businesses and check in using your digital trail pass.

The Holiday Trail will be a digitally-enabled experience! This mobile pass will be enabled by Bandwango and administered by Experience Columbus. Each person who completes the trail will receive a their choice of a FREE hot chocolate and cookie from Tertulia Bakery & Cafe, or a FREE hot chocolate or hot cider from Northstar Cafe.

Kids’ Scavenger Hunt:
Kids under 12 are invited to explore the district to find festive items from our list of participating businesses. Track down five or more unique snowflakes to receive a free sweet treat!

Lil’ Shops:
Participating business offer a curated selection of items under $20, perfect for children to pick out gifts for family and friends.

Holiday Tree Lot:
Find your perfect holiday tree from Oakland Nursery during the Holiday Hop! Pre-order available soon.

Vino e Dolcetti at Le Meridien, The Joseph
Sip and mingle with dedicated, premium wine and cookie pairings at this 21+ ticketed event from 3 – 5pm.

Photos with Santa + Mrs. Claus
Gather around for a jolly photo with family and friends! Available all day in the lobby of The Graduate.

Family Fun at CMA at the Pizzuti
Get creative at the Columbus Museum of Art’s Short North campus with a hands-on activity for all ages, hourly family tours of the current exhibition, a teen-only craft party, and free hot chocolate and cookies for the kids (while supplies last.)

Experience Columbus Welcome Center Pop-Up
Visit a pop-up located in front of the soon-to-open Columbus Welcome Center, located at 625 N High St. When you make a donation to the Mid-Ohio Food Collective you’ll receive a gift card for a free Winans hot chocolate.

Local businesses are getting in on the fun, too! Seek out special pop-up sidewalk activations from your favorite spots.

• Visit the Columbus Food Adventures pop-up to learn about upcoming tours and holiday gift options
• Rowe Boutique will pop-up in front of the storefront to offer you even more gift ideas
• Ransom Supply and Scatterjoy will offer pre-sales of their can’t-miss Holiday Market Collection

live performances

The main performance area isn’t the only place to be entertained — the entire district from North to South will be alive with street performances through visual art, demonstrations, and other performance art!

Jam out at the mini main stage to a mix of high-energy performers of all genres!

Discover new acts or encounter old favorites as you enjoy the tunes, acts, and art of several performers throughout the event.
