First Commonwealth Bank is thrilled to be featuring the amazing work of 2 local artists, who happen to be brothers!
Gerald Fitzpatrick is an artificial limb maker who fits prosthesis on landmine victims in international conflict zones. Now settled in his hometown of Columbus, he is carving out a new chapter in his life exploring the metal arts. “I collect and store images and experiences throughout my travels and combine them with my love of the metal arts. I create forms from scratch. I call it my art and hopefully it will move you.”
John Fitzpatrick spent his working career in professional sales. He left work in 2011 to spend his time taking care of his aging parents. With their passing, he now occupies his time chilling and making masks. “I make masks. They make me laugh. I get my inspiration from my daily encounters and give them a quirky twist. Some you will be able to experience is his psychedelic stink bug, Mona Lisa with a buzz cut, and the Big Kahuna family.”
Their work will be displayed through the end of November in First Commonwealth’s lobby. They invite you to stop by from 6:00pm – 9:00pm during Gallery Hop to meet Gerald and John and enjoy their unique artwork. Light refreshments will be served.
