Located in the Greater Columbus Convention Center’s Discovery Cafe, Live at Lunch is a new entertainment series promoting local artists. The events are free of charge and will be held indoors or outdoors depending on weather conditions.
“As part of our $140 million expansion & renovation, we are also creating new programs such as ‘Live at Lunch’ to augment the guest experience and feature local artists,” said GCCC General Manager John R. Page. “We are providing visitors and the community with the opportunity to enjoy our beautiful collection of local artwork, a delicious lunch featuring locally sourced ingredients, and the sights and sounds of local entertainers.”
The first entertainer in the series will be C LA C I (pronounced see-laa-see-eye), which means “the power of the Holy Trinity.” C LA C I’s Mark Hunter, also lead singer for Columbus-based Ark Band, is originally from Sierra Leone and shares his life story and journey into Rastafari through music and photographs.
Guests may purchase lunch to enjoy during the performances at Discovery Café, which is located near the Arnold Plaza, just inside the facility’s west entrance along High Street. Discovery Café is composed of Homegrown Market, Columbus Grille, Crimson Cup and CBUS Tap Room and is operated by the GCCC’s exclusive caterer, Levy. Ample seating is available.
The GCCC plans to present “Live at Lunch” events on a monthly basis and collaborate with the Greater Columbus Arts Council and others on programming.
