Mammal Dap returns to Columbuswith Paper Morning & Fool’s Fire at Brothers Drake Meadery. $5 cover at door

The Deli Magazine describes Northampton, MA-based Mammal Dap as “a compelling combination of Ratatat’s elasticity and Flying Lotus’ claustrophobia.” Balancing a deep love of nostalgic tones with a digital-age sensibility, the four-piece evoke the sounds of artists like Daft Punk, Tycho, and Bonobo. The group has shared the stage with acclaimed acts The Motet, The Nth Power, Moon Hooch, Tauk, and Marco Benevento, and recently performed a Northeast tribute to Beck featuring Shira Elias (of Turkuaz) on vocals. Mammal Dap paints a cosmic soundscape in their latest EP Deep Field, which was featured in Relix Magazine and Live for Live Music, and included in Arizona Daily Sun’s 10 Best Albums of 2017. “It’s like these melodies, songs, and tiny electronic musings have always existed, but Mammal Dap was there to tap into the ether, and record them for our eternal enjoyment.” (Take Magazine).
