Performance art duo Princess (Alexis Gideon and Michael O’Neill) join The Wex to perform live music to their timely video concept album Out There. Described by the artists as a cross between Beyoncé’s Lemonade, the Broadway hit Hamilton, and the sound of German electro-pioneers Kraftwerk, Out There explores the role men should play during the current cultural reckoning with systemic misogyny. Made in collaboration with JD Samson (MEN, Le Tigre) and visual artist Jennifer Meridian, this sci-fi inflected project reclaims the original power of MTV by building on the legacy of concept albums such as David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust and Deltron 3030.
