About the event Come join us for a relaxing and inclusive yoga session. This event is a safe space for individuals of all identities and experience levels to come together and practice yoga in a welcoming environment. So grab your gear, wear something comfy, and get ready to stretch, breathe, and connect with your community!

Queer Yoga is a mindfulness-based program offered to the LGBTQ+ community that promotes holistic health & wellness for Queer folx. Safe & supportive allies of Queer Yoga participants, are also welcome to attend in solidarity with their family and/or friends. Each class offering is beginner-friendly. Instructors make the class accessible for 1st-timers, and offer alternative poses for more advanced practitioners.

The program features a variety of styles and approaches, but mainly integrates Restorative Yoga, Hatha Yoga, and/or Vinyasa Yoga coupled with meditation & breathwork. Queer Yoga upholds a platform of diversity & inclusion within the yoga teacher rotation, to honor the fact that representation matters for students. All students are welcomed and affirmed.

  • Tickets available here
  • STUDENT CHECK IN – can start up to 15 minutes before class. Instructors provide physical waivers or iPad. Water provided (courtesy of Stonewall), but participants are welcome to bring their own if desired.
  • MATS & PROPS – provided for participants (courtesy of Central Outreach & Stonewall), but participants are welcome to bring their own if desired.
  • CLASS TIME – 1 HR yoga practice + approx. 30 MIN mindfulness discussion/community engagement/socializin About the venue

 

About the venue Stonewall Columbus is a center for the LGBTQ+ community in Central Ohio; founded in 1981, as Stonewall Union, with the goal of “increasing the visibility and acceptance of the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender (GLBT) community.” During the course of Stonewall’s 40+ year existence, Columbus and the LGBTQ+ community has changed. The City of Columbus is now the 14th largest city in the country and recognized as one of the most LGBTQ+ friendly cities in the United States.
