PAST PRODUCTIONS COLUMBUS presents the second play in the August Wilson Festival at The Short North Stage. Set in Memphis Lee’s diner in 1969. Pittsburgh’s Hill district neighborhood is in the midst of moving from the Civil Rights to the Black Power era. The changing attitudes and realities impact the resident’s day to day existence. Gentrification, self determination, mass incarceration. Will the spirit of the neighborhood survive? Wilsons’s gorgeously poetic language immerses playgoers in a rich and mesmerizing treasure.

“Don’t pray when it rains if you don’t pray when the sun shines.”

Satchel Paige
