Join Lindsay Gallery in celebrating the Columbus Museum of Art’s new exhibition, which features paintings and drawings by William Hawkins.

Hawkins was raised on a farm in Kentucky where he learned to draw by copying illustrations from horse auction announcements and calendars. In 1916, he moved to Columbus where he painted the cityscapes and fantastic animals for which he is best known. Hawkins’ work is in museums and major collections all over the world.

The show will be on view through May 20. A gallery talk with the Columbus Museum of Art’s Director Nannette Maciejeunes will be held at 7:00pm at this opening reception.
