(Not) Sheep Gallery presents Women’s Work: Redress, a second showing based on the theme “women’s work”, which presents work, done by women, in methods traditionally considered “women’s work”, i.e., sewing, embroidery, knitting, weaving, etc. The artists, Char Norman, Sue Cavanaugh, Nava Lubelski, Signe Stuart, Priscilla Roggenkamp, and Magda Parasidis, use these techniques in new and innovative ways to create difficult work that address issues of the environment, sexism, gender issues including poverty, and in some cases, just incredible contemporary works of art.
