JUNE EXHIBITIONS IN THE SHORT NORTH ARTS DISTRICT
June Gallery Hop turns Open Streets with Hops on High! June 1 from 12-8 p.m.
June Gallery Hop featured all that is special about the legendary monthly tradition that is the Short North Gallery Hop and focused on the multidimensional experiences that make the Short North Arts District a centralized creative hub with something for everyone in Columbus. In celebration of 40 years of Short North Gallery Hop, Gallery Hop turned Open Streets with a new, communal seasonal series called âHops on Highâ. Portions of High Street were closed to traffic and made to be enjoyed as the largest pedestrian-only experience in Central Ohio. As with all Gallery Hops, the Galleries within the district will have art on display from a variety of different artists for an extended period of time. Make sure to stop into each Gallery to learn more about featured artists, open receptions and more.
JUNE GALLERY EXHIBITIONS
Adamah Ceramics | 641 N. High St.
Adamah Ceramics will be featuring the ceramic work of Justin âJstn Clmnâ Coleman. Clmnâs work explores what is the Black experience of, and in, Modern architecture, the city, and the built environment? Clmnâs practice stems from his reflection on growing up in a city and a black neighborhood. He observes the maintenance of buildings and is interested in the material effects of a built environment. Adamah Ceramics will also feature oil painter Kathy Ludlam. Ludlamâs representational paintings aim to capture the extraordinary and everyday aspects of life. She is drawn to a variety of subjects and aims to show the dramatic beauty of strong direct sunlight. A reception will be held on Gallery Hop from 4 pm – 8 pm for both featured artists. Light refreshments will be provided.
Adamah Ceramicsâ June Gallery Hop hours are 4-8 p.m.

BRG is delighted to present a small Spring feature of Chicago-based artist, Jane Carney’s new work. Of her large-scale mixed media pieces, Carney states, “However I initiate the surface, a dialogue begins. It is a conversation, a back and forth of visual bantering. This allows me to work with disparate ideas that evolve from personal experiences and the world around me.”
Brandt-Roberts Galleriesâ May Gallery Hop hours are 1-7 p.m.
Marcia Evans Gallery | 8 E. Lincoln St.

Sean Christopher Gallery Ohio | 815 N. High St. Ste. H
This exhibition is a collection of works by emerging, midwestern artists Baylee Schmitt, Jess Schwarz, Leela Waters, and River Berry. âSâofterâŹâŹ presents a variety of works in multiple mediums including crochet, weaving, latex, quilting, and ceramics that investigate the intimacy of material, space, and memory. âThâŹese delicate works take nostalgic aesthetics of childhood whimsy turning them into plush abstractions of memory and experience. Each artist grapples with their personal reality through highly process-based work and installation, often subverting traditional crafts techniques to express these narratives.
Sean Christopher Gallery Ohioâs June Gallery Hop hours are 4-9 p.m.
Sharon Weiss Gallery | 20 E Lincoln St.
âDrawn and Quarteredâ is the second solo exhibit of Michael J. Rosenâs collages at Sharon Weiss Gallery. Uniquely, his works are all created from his own paintings and drawings, chopped and puzzled into compositions that invited the viewer into realms their memories and imaginations can inhabit. Rather than clipping magazines or other artifacts, rather than executing his collages based on a still life or an existing scene, Rosen ventures into the realm of play: creativity at its purest and least encumbered. His collages suggest that we can find ourselves, reflected in the familiar objects we have gathered. Rosen has spent some forty years in the Central Ohioâand nationalâarts scene, in the realms of literature, illustration, ceramics, painting, printmaking, and collage. He spent twenty years as the founding literary director of the Thurber House, and has published some 150 books for readers of all ages. For more information, www.michaeljrosen.com.
