Every piece represents a being with its own heroism, poetry, and a desperate desire for life. Imago Dei is Latin for Image of God. The artist’s works are an exploration of theology, ecology, and the interaction of humanity with wildlife. Are these created images all that will be left before it is too late? Can humans share in the experience of transformation?

Inspired by the connection between the maker and the wearer, Mikelle Hickman-Romine is a Columbus, Ohio-based jewelry designer.
