MARCH EXHIBITIONS IN THE SHORT NORTH ARTS DISTRICT

Art lovers are invited to March Gallery Hop, on Saturday, March 5, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

New exhibitions at local galleries in the Short North Arts District include Sean Christopher Gallery’s 21st Anniversary celebration, the annual juried exhibition “Hit the Hop” at Studios on High, as well as new works at Brandt-Roberts Galleries, Marcia Evans Gallery, and Sharon Weiss Gallery. Gallery Hoppers can also expect to see street performers, vendors, special promotions at local businesses and more during the March Gallery Hop.

During the March Gallery Hop, Brandt-Roberts Galleries is delighted to showcase a new body of work from artist Caitlin Cartwright and to introduce Columbus-based artist, LaShae Boyd.

Hammond Harkins Galleries will be featuring new works by gallery artists in their exhibition titled, “Winter Selections.” This selection of works will be on view through March 12.

Marcia Evans Gallery | 8 E Lincoln St.

The March Gallery Hop marks the 12th gallery show for Annette Poitau, the French-born, American artist. After receiving her MFA in Paris, France, Poitau continued to study art in New York, San Francisco and eventually Ohio. This body of work will certainly appeal to her many followers and will also capture the attention of new appreciators. .

Stop by Sean Christopher Gallery + Ohio during the March Gallery Hop for their 21st Anniversary Celebration featuring the 15th Annual Fort Hayes Arts and Academic High School AP Art Exhibition and Alumni Spotlight.

Sharon Weiss Gallery | 20 E Lincoln St.

The resident women artists of 24 Lincoln Street Art Studios, fondly known as “The Little Blue House Next to Sharon Weiss Gallery”, are proud to announce a group exhibition hosted by Sharon Weiss Gallery at 20 Lincoln. The show will include new works by Amy Adams, Lisa Parks Godfrey, Karen LaValley, and Tamar Rudavsky as well as showcase the individuality of each artist, both in subject matter and artistic expression. 2023 marks the fourth anniversary of 24 Lincoln Street Art Studios, the only working artist studio in the Short North Arts District.

Studios On High | 20 E Lincoln St.

Studios on High Gallery presents “Hit the Hop”, the gallery’s annual, open call, juried exhibition open to Ohio artists. The 2023 theme is All Things Green. Now in its eighth year, this show provides a unique opportunity for Ohio artists to display their work in the Short North. A $500 first place, $200 second place, and People’s Choice award will be announced March 5.

Art Spot | See Map for Locations

Art lovers are encouraged to explore Art Spot, a collection of 13 window installations designed by Columbus-area artists located throughout the Short North Arts District and Downtown Columbus. Each installation is designed around the theme of Climate Conversations, encouraging conversations about the climate crisis and the role of art in science communication. 
Four Art Spot installations are located in the Short North Arts District between E. 4th Ave. and W. 2nd Ave. along High St. Art Spot is a project of the Greater Columbus Art Council. For more information about participating artists and locations, visit columbusmakesart.com/artspot.

W*nder | 16 W Poplar Ave

In collaboration with Social Circle, Brown Sugar showcases a blend of hip-hop, R&B with a little bit of afrobeat, dancehall, and reggaetón sprinkled in from artists around the world played by DJ’s of color. Tickets can be purchased here.
