SEPTEMBER GALLERY EXHIBITIONS

Brandt-Roberts Galleries | 642 N High St

During the September Gallery Hop, Brandt-Roberts Galleries will feature “Christopher Burk: Josef and Anni Albers Foundation Residency, Selected Works” as well as the exhibition titled “Ohio Mid-Century Modern”

“Ohio Mid-Century Modern” will feature artists working and residing in Ohio who influenced the artistic landscape of our region primarily between 1940 and 1965. Artists featured will include E.F. Hebner, Robert King, Robert Knipschild, Al Newbill, Glen Rothman and Stanley Twardowicz.

Brandt-Roberts Galleries’ September Gallery Hop hours are from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Emergent Art + Craft | 14 E. Lincoln Street

Join Emergent Art + Craft for the reception of Luke Boyd’s “Serving Suggestion” on Saturday, Sept. 3, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. This exhibition is a body of confectionery art that combines cake decorating and painting to create a palatable reality. The show is full of paintings and sculptures that explore sensual desires while offering affirmations of love, acceptance, and humor. 

Emergent Art + Craft’s September Gallery Hop hours are 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Hammond Harkins Galleries | 641 N High St

Join Hammond Harkins Galleries for “Melissa Vogley Woods: Still Bodies” featuring the scagliola work of Vogley Woods. Also on view, “Summer Selections,” with works by Laura Alexander,

Marcia Evans Gallery | 8 E Lincoln St

Marcia Evans Gallery features artists Zachary Dean Jones & Erin Patton McFarren during the September Gallery Hop. Dean explores organic elements on his land in Athens which he uses to create his abstracts from nature. McFarren creates cyanotypes, which are created by painting with sunlight, light and waves using various bodies of water to create calming images of mainly blue and white.

Pizzuti Collection of the Columbus Museum of Art

As part of FotoFocus biennial, CMA presents “I Hear America Singing: Contemporary Photography from America at the Pizzuti Collection of the Columbus Museum of Art.” Encompassing more than 100 photographic projects at participating venues across Greater Cincinnati, Northern Kentucky, Dayton, and Columbus, the 2022 FotoFocus biennial is presented under the theme of World Record. The theme considers photography’s extensive record of life on earth, humankind’s impact on the natural world, and the choices we now face as a global community.

Sean Christopher Gallery Ohio | 815 N High St. Ste H

Join Sean Christopher Gallery Ohio during the September Gallery Hop for their opening reception featuring Molly Marek’s “by-prod-uct”. The emerging artist’s solo exhibition will continue through Sept. 24.

Columbus-native and Kentucky-based Molly Marek recently received her BFA degree in Ceramics from Ohio University (spring 2022). The artist’s environmentally-focused mixed media installations are beautifully bold while inviting us to examine the reality of polluted Appalachian lands and waters in southern Ohio.

Sean Christopher Gallery Ohio’s September Gallery Hop hours are 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Sharon Weiss Gallery | 20 E Lincoln St

Sharon Weiss Gallery presents a solo exhibition by Mathew McFarren. McFarren’s work will be on view the month of September and features bold pallets and brush strokes with a wide array of subjects. Stop by the artist reception on Sept. 3, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Studios on High Gallery | 686 N High St

Join Studios on High Gallery for their exhibition titled “Sunrise to Sunset in Columbus Metro Parks” by artist Annette K. Simon. This exhibition is presented as a visual study of a means of building tolerance to change through the incremental rising and setting of the sun.

Studios on High Gallery’s September Gallery Hop hours are from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m., with the artist in attendance from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. 

Artist: Dane Khy

Summer Spray Exhibition | 1137 N High

“Summer Spray ” participating artist Dane Khy showcasing their works at The Jackson on High., located at 1137 N. High St.

Columbus-native, Dane Khy, is a freelance artist/editorial illustrator under the pseudonym, WithOneLine, and an emerging painter who has been honing his skills into the public art space. Dane has worked with a list of national brands, and although they have been rewarding, he finds more value and enjoyment creating in his community and for the city of Columbus. Two subjects that will continue to inspire his work are his family’s Chinese/Cambodian roots and the relationships humans share with animals.
