StoryCorps MobileBooth in the Short North Arts District
Win a StoryCorps Recording Appointment
The StoryCorps MobileBooth is coming to the Short North Arts District!
StoryCorps, founded in 2003 by Dave Isay, is a renowned nonprofit organization that celebrates and archives the stories of everyday Americans. The organization’s MobileBooth – an Airstream trailer with a built-in recording studio – travels the country to record interviews that are archived at the Library of Congress.
WOSU Public Media is hosting the MobileBooth for its visit to Columbus this July, during which it will be parked in the Short North Arts District.
While appointments are open to the public on a first come, first served basis, the Short North Alliance also has three reserved recording appointments, which community members will have the opportunity to win.
Why? Because it is our community’s stories that make the Short North Arts District the unique, vibrant place it is!
How can you win a StoryCorps recording appointment?
All you have to do is tag us in a post on Facebook, Instagram, or Twitter telling your favorite Short North Arts District story!
This can be the story of your favorite day spent here, the story behind a selfie you took in front of a mural, the story of a first date or a memorable night out with friends – whatever.
We’ll share your stories over the coming weeks and on July 14, we’ll select and announce the winners of our three appointments, which are:
Saturday, July 20 at 2:20 p.m.
Monday, July 22 at 3:30 p.m.
Wednesday, July 24 at 3:30 p.m.
Winners will have the chance to visit the StoryCorps Mobile Booth during a reserved appointment time, where they can record the story of their choosing to be archived at the Library of Congress.
