Dexter Komakaru is a queer, Indigenous artist and storyteller behind his visual arts studio DXTROSE, based in Central Ohio. Working at the intersection of storytelling, identity, and collective memory, his practice is rooted in intergenerational lineages, anti-capitalist values, and art as ritual for personal and cultural healing. Self-taught and spirit-led, Dexter creates alchemical art that carries both story and sacred vision, supporting grassroots movements, community orgs, and private clients who want more than just aesthetics, who want meaning.

Since 2015, he’s built a body of work that centers care, clarity, and liberation, and he continues to hold space for artists, creatives, and visionaries to imagine freer futures through our work.
