Help the Short North Alliance Make A Big Impact During The Big Give!
Make Your Donation Go Further with The Big Give!
From June 10, 10 a.m. to June 11, 11 a.m., all donations made through The Giving Store will be boosted by The Columbus Foundation with a pool of over $1.5 million.
We hope you’ll consider donating to the Short North Alliance during The Big Give to help support the Art + Soul of Columbus. By contributing to the Short North Alliance, you are supporting:
- Programs and promotions that put dollars directly back into the hands of local businesses, and will help attract visitors in the future – including the recently completed Short North Arts District Local Business Gift Card Give Back that generated over $190,000 for local businesses
- Clean and safety programs and advocacy efforts that benefit local businesses – including sourcing Personal Protective Equipment, leading safety programs, and coordinating informational support during COVID-19
- New public art projects throughout the Short North Arts District, which employ local artists and contribute to the vibrancy of our neighborhood – including such new summer projects as the Wall Alley Portal, One World Mural Series, and Summer Spray
- Creative events, which bring our community together and attract business for the District’s independently-owned art galleries, retailers, restaurants, cafes, and more – including Gallery Hop, HighBall Halloween, Holiday Hop, and more

CARES Act Charitable Giving Update
New Deduction Available: Individual taxpayers who previously were not allowed to itemize can deduct charitable contributions up to $300 (or up to $600 for married couples) from their 2020 taxes. This means you can reduce your taxable income up to $300 (or up to $600 for married couples) on your 2020 taxes.
New Charitable Deduction Limits: Individuals and corporations that itemize can deduct much greater amounts of their contributions. Individuals can elect to deduct donations up to 100% of their 2020 AGI (up from 60% previously). Corporations may deduct up to 25% of taxable income, up from the previous limit of 10%. The new deduction is for gifts that go to a public charity, such as Short North Alliance.
