art galleries + museum

works by chloe milan

Chloe says this about their work: “I am drawn to physically art making with practices like painting, drawing and photo collage. I also recently found a passion for digital photo manipulation and glitch work. Another passion of mine is facilitating safe spaces for LGBTQ+ creatives and making collaborative work. I am able to do this through my group called Queer Art Club, Columbus. We meet monthly to create with provided materials and socialize with other like-minded people at local queer owned/operated businesses.”

works by edmund boateng

Edmund says this about their work: “Before I started this project, I never really paid attention to the architecture and colors of the buildings in and around Columbus. I mean, I had taken some photos of buildings in the past, but it was almost like I wasn’t paying attention to what I was picturing. One day I rented a new camera for a commercial work. After the job, I had a few more days with the camera, so I decided to go for a walk with it. Having a new camera in hand made me think about looking at things differently. I wasn’t trying to make a great picture; I was just out there taking photos of anything that stood out colorfully. What I came home with is what eventually evolved into the exhibition you’re about to witness.”

the gathered

The Gathered is a 625 sq ft tile mosaic by North Carolina-based artist Andrew Hendrixson. The mosaic, composed of an undulating rhythm of nearly 400,000 12 mm bespoke glass tiles, reminds viewers of the individual small pieces that comprise the whole, a metaphor for community. It is installed on the east-facing wall of the Parkside on Pearl building, facing Italian Village Park.
