Brandt-Roberts Galleries
Brandt-Roberts Galleries is featuring a series of select works by artist Bernard Palchick. These mesmerizing paintings of candy heaped in a decorative glass invite the viewer to imagine themselves plucking out a treat, and pausing to consider their representation. While the subject seems straightforward, much of the composition is an abstraction.

Lindsay Gallery is featuring the 15th Annual Fundraiser for Annie’s Fund for the Creative Arts, with work by Robert Falcone and John Taylor-Lehman, in memory of Dr. Anne Miller, an artist and arts patron, and the late wife of Falcone. Reception August 4 from 6:00pm – 9:00pm. Annie’s Fund awards grants to arts institutions and individual artists who might otherwise go unfunded.

ROYGBIV Gallery is featuring Jon P. Geiger and Leah Frankel through August 26. Geiger will stock the gallery with a series of small ceramic works. Frankel will bring immense concepts to human scale through everyday objects. Opening reception August 5 from 6:00 – 10:00pm with an Artist Talk August 26 at 2:30pm.

Sean Christopher Gallery Ohio continues Common Ground by Abiola Idowu and Julia Hamilton through August 26. There will be an Artist Reception on Gallery Hop Saturday from 6:00-10:00pm.

Sherrie Gallerie is featuring ceramic artist Calvin Ma’s Blend In, which touches on his struggles fitting in socially. The underlying theme of the series has his meticulously sculpted figures attempting to blend in to their natural environments, but never fully able to do so. Each piece focuses on a particular segment of this theme in it’s own unique way.

 

 

Studios on High Gallery
Studios on High Gallery
is featuring Shadowlands by Tracy Greenwalt through August 29. Greenwalt’s work examines our relationship to the land we inhabit. By folding anachronistic imagery into a personal narrative, the artist asks the viewer to consider our ever-changing relationship with the land and what those who came before us might have to say.  Opening reception August 5 from 6:00pm – 10:00pm, with the artist in attendance from 4:00pm – 10:00pm.

 

 

Wexner Center for the Arts 
Wexner Center for the Arts is featuring the wry, neoclassical chamber drama, The Death of Louis XIV, on Saturday, August 5 at 7:00pm. The film features a career capping performance by French New Wave icon Jean-Pierre Leaud.
