Poised at the gateway to the Short North Arts District, the Greater Columbus Convention Center (GCCC) will show off more than 130 stunning works of local art when it makes its debut September 2 as part of the district’s Gallery Hop circuit.

As part of the GCCC’s recent $140 million expansion and renovation, the Convention Facilities Authority has acquired artwork by more than 100 local artists just for the convention center. These works display the community’s diversity, openness, and artistic strength to visitors, tourists, and residents alike. The GCCC’s collection includes a dramatic interactive sculpture created by local artist Matthew Mohr and unlike any other in the world, and Gallery Hop will be one of the earliest opportunities to see it on display.

The Convention Facilities Authority, which owns the convention center, the Hilton Columbus Downtown, Nationwide Arena and four parking facilities, has invested more than $3.5 million to build the largest contemporary collection of Franklin County art.

Please join GCCC during Gallery Hop for refreshments, art tours and an opportunity to meet Matthew Mohr.
