From simple to complex, the “BAIT” is everywhere. Once the line is crossed, there may not be a way back. CMA AT THE PIZZUTI | 632 PARK ST.
“tavares strachan: the day tomorrow began”
Defining himself as an explorer and storyteller, Strachan has developed a singular artistic practice fusing art, science, and cultural inquiry. At the heart of the exhibition is his “Encyclopedia of Invisibility,” an evolving compendium of “hidden” histories, which the artist has compiled into an open-ended archive of figures, events, and ideas suppressed within canonizing historical narratives. The “Encyclopedia” has inspired many of Strachan’s recent projects, including his monumental sculptures, works in glass and ceramic, paintings, tapestries, self-playing musical instruments, and room-scale installations. Key to this experience is “Bar Room” (2022/2025), a rum bar, café, and gathering place.
