Brandt-Roberts Galleries will featuring new historic works this February. Mid-century paintings from Scandinavia and the United States will be on display, including pieces by Eric With and Eli Frandsen. In addition, new seasonal works by their 30 represented contemporary artists and estates will be on exhibition.
Hammond Harkins Galleries
Another World and Other Works, an exhibition of new work by the late Dennison W. Griffith, is on display until February 21 at Hammond Harkins Galleries.
This month, Linsday Gallery will feature a variety of works by gallery artists including Andrea Joyce Heimer, Harry Underwood, Morris Jackson, and more.
Marcia Evans Gallery will be featuring Will Shively’s 30-year love affair with BalletMet Columbus in The Dance. Opening reception will be on Friday, February 5 from 5:30-8:30pm. This exhibit will be on display from February 5 through February 29.
At the Pizzuti Collection is US IS THEM, is a powerful exhibition of 75 paintings, sculpture, photographs, and video by a group of 42 international artists whose work confronts issues of politics, religion, and racism. Take a tour at 2:00pm on Gallery Hop Saturday.
For the January Gallery Hop, pm gallery is featuring Hot Pots For Cold Nights – Revisited, consisting of large vessels and pots by Kevin Russell of Columbus, Ohio. Firing techniques include addition of ferris chloride, soda and raku firing.
Rivet will be featuring the third annual Be My Valentine Group Exhibition from February 6 through the 29.
Channeling the days of Valentine greetings being handed out at elementary school, the nervousness of silly little crushes and fears of past. This is a modern-day twist on the little Valentine squares.
ROY G BIV
ROY G BIV Gallery presents Allison Rose Craver and Kirsten Stolle. Craver’s ceramic sculptures of domestic objects offer contemplative pause. Stolle’s mixed-media collages examine the influence of agribusiness and pharmaceutical companies on our food supply. The work of both artists is on display February 6–27 with an opening reception on Saturday, February 6 from 7:00-10:00pm. Artists’ talk and closing will be on Saturday, February 27 at 2:30pm.
Sean Christopher Gallery Ohio
This month, at Sean Christopher Gallery Ohio, is the Fifth Annual Young Hearts Juried Exhibition: The Color of Love an All-CCAD Student Exhibit, selections by guest juror Dana Lynn Harper. A Gallery Hop Opening Reception will be on February 6, from 6-10pm. The exhibit will be on display from February 6-27.
Short North Arts District mural artist, Michael Guinane, will speak about his Short North Mural Series mural at 1:00pm on Gallery Hop Saturday at Sharon Weiss Gallery. Michael will also be exhibiting his new Paris France street scene paintings during the month of February.
From January 17 through March 1, Sherrie Gallerie will be featuring “NO BOUNDARIES: Art as Jewelry, Jewelry as Art”.
The collection blurs the lines between art and jewelry, engaging viewers with both striking visual appeal and enticing interactive allure. An exciting and diverse array of materials and techniques will be represented, including spectacular pieces by Biba Schutz, Karen Gilbert, Ford Forlano, David and Roberta Williamson, and many more.
Studios on High Gallery
Kim Covell Maurer will display her work at Studios on High Gallery from February 1 through February 29. There will be an opening reception with the artist in attendance on February 6 from 6:00-10:00pm. Kim’s recent work in encaustic alternates between aerial and ground views of daily, personal treks and moments. Ephemeral pieces of information such as maps, phone book pages, and newspaper articles once used to help navigate throughout the day are covered and obscured in layers of encaustic wax while featuring more lasting imagery of orchids and the milky way.
Big Fun is featuring students from Pickerington High School for the February Gallery Hop, with a performance by the Shazzbots.
Brothers Drake Meadery presents Winterwolf Studios and Red Generation Photography, a fine art exhibition on February 13 at 7:00pm. Live music to follow featuring The Receiver and The Wet Darlings.

Denmark on High
Artist Adam Levene will be featured at Denmark on High for the months of February and March. Adam Levene’s work emboldens melancholic subtleties with expressive brushwork and narrative; a classical execution cynically contrasting image ephemera redeveloping the intended thought.
First Commonwealth Bank
First Commonwealth Bank will be featuring artist Alyssa Cubero for the month of February. Alyssa is a Columbus-based freelance illustrator and fine artist with a passion for detailed line work as well as sculpture. Primarily working with india ink, watercolor, and gouache, her artwork focuses on organic shapes, subjects of nature and different variations of texture. Alyssa will be on hand to greet guests at the February Gallery Hop so stop by from 5:00-8:00pm to enjoy her artwork. Light refreshments will be served.
The Paper Daisy Flower Boutique
This Gallery Hop at The Paper Daisy, the shop will feature jewelry artist Cricket Jones. Jones makes jewelry from silverware, flatware and recycled materials. She can also turn family flatware into a collectible heirloom.
In February, Global Gifts will be showcasing the fair trade, handmade pottery of Ceramicas Polopo, a family run business located on the shores of Lake Atitlán in Guatemala. The Perez family makes unique dishware, figures, vases, and other items decorated in their distinctive style. Ceramicas are high fired for durability and decorated with lead-free glazes. At February Gallery Hop, Global Gifts will be giving away one of these small heart planters from Ceramicas Polopo. Stop by Global Gifts and enter to win. Enjoy fair trade coffee samples and baked goods while you shop.
This Gallery Hop, House Beer is featuring ChelC. From the time she could hold a marker, creating art has always been a healthy outlet for her and continues to enrich her world and that of her two daughters today. ChelC’s limitless use of materials also keeps her open to all kinds of freelance work including murals, nurseries, tattoos, paintings, sculptures, theater sets, costume design, family portraits, album cover art, and children’s books.
Stonewall Columbus is featuring States of Mind by artist Queen Brooks. There will be an opening night reception and art show on Friday, February 5 from 6:00-9:00pm and a Gallery Hop art show on Saturday, February 6 from 4:00-8:00pm. The Wexner Center for the Arts
The Wexner Center will have Noah Purifoy: Junk Dada from Saturday, January 30 through Sunday, April 10. Curated by Franklin Sirmans and Yael Lipschutz for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Noah Purifoy: Junk Dada “brilliantly demonstrate[s] the many beginnings that Purifoy’s work continues to offer us now that its time has again arrived,” (Artforum).
