This March, Brandt-Roberts Galleries will present a contemporary group exhibition titled Seasonal Awakening: Dormant No More. This exhibition will feature new works by Brian Port, Jason Morgan, Mark Gingerich, and Richard Lillash, as well as works from their collection of historic pieces. By exploring the concepts of rebirth, renewal, and reawakening, these artists will put their own spin on the traditional floral still-life to create a complex, intriguing exhibition.

This Gallery Hop at Hammond Harkins, Group Show featuring Carol Stewart from February 26 – March 20. This exhibition is presented in conjunction with Carol Stewart: Tablescapes at the Faculty Club at The Ohio State University, which is on view at the Faculty Club February 29 through April 29, 2016. Stewart will be at Hammond Harkins  during Gallery Hop, to discuss her work.

For the March Gallery Hop, Joseph Editions will be featuring To Paris, with love by Grégoire Moulin. Joseph Editions will be open from noon to 8:00pm on Gallery Hop Saturday.

This March Lindsay Gallery will be featuring Steve Ehret, Atmos during the month of March. Steve Ehret’s oil paintings are inspired by the natural world, but are no means realism. Ehret recently moved to Columbus, this show is his introduction. The opening reception on Friday, March 4 from 6:00-9:00pm.

Marcia Evans Gallery is celebrating their 10th anniversary with Erik Horvath & Kate Morgan. Both from Ohio, Horvath and Morgan are two amazingly talented artists who have a creative style of mixing realism with a touch of the contemporary surrealism. Both artists present a unique view of the world.

At the Pizzuti Collection is US IS THEM, is a powerful exhibition of 75 paintings, sculpture, photographs, and video by a group of 42 international artists whose work confronts issues of politics, religion, and racism.

The collection is open from 11:00am to 5:00pm on Saturday, with a tour at 2:00pm.

For the March Gallery Hop, pm gallery will be continuing the Year of Wince: New and Old Works by Charles Wince. Charles Wince is a long time Short North resident and the featured artist of pm gallery’s mural for the Short North Mural Series.

Destroy Everything featuring the kaiju-influenced artwork of Ohio artisan Jeff Lamm at Rivet. Opening reception on Saturday, March 5 with artist in attendance. Exhibition will be on display through March 30.

 

 

 

ROYGBIVROY G BIV Gallery
ROY G BIV Gallery presents Kelley O’Brien and Anthony Warnick. O’Brien’s photos and videos tell the history of a landfill in the Phillipines’ capital city. Warnick’s appropriations examine the effects of deregulation and privatization in the US since the 1980s. The work of both artists is on display March 5–26. Opening reception on Saturday, March 5 from 7:00-10:00pm with an artist talk and closing on Saturday, March 26 at 2:30pm.

This month, see Concentration 8: An Annual Group Exhibition by select Fort Hayes Arts & Academic AP students at  Sean Christopher Gallery Ohio. Each student is guided in their Advanced Placement studies by art teacher and Shot Tower Gallery Director, Teresa Weidenbusch, to focus on their own chosen theme, medium, and scale, while working with an ongoing series. Many of Concentration‘s exhibitors over the years have gone on to attend prestigious colleges around the country in the visual and performing arts.

Artist will be in the studio Gallery Hop night to discuss his work. 

 

 

 

SOHGStudios on High Gallery
For the March Gallery Hop, Studios on High Gallery will be featuring Global Community: What We Have in Common opening on Gallery Hop Saturday from 6:00-10:00pm. This will be the third juried show at Studios on High Gallery giving Ohio artists an opportunity to showcase their work.

Brothers Drake is featuring artist Elliot Twelvetrees with an artist reception on March 5 from 4:00pm – 6:00pm. Influenced by music and travel, she creates surfaces charged with velocity by her experience as a decorative painter. This March House Beer is featuring an outsider artist who has been creating new work for most of her life. Jen Bodine’s unique concepts and exciting use of color express her interpretation of people and nature to bring a multi-faceted perspective to the viewer. Working in many mediums such as watercolor, acrylic screen printing and glass, Bodine is inspired by the special connections between people, cities, space and time, amplifying them with layers of color, texture, and depth.

For the March Gallery Hop, Mallory Lane is featuring another local artist, Jenn Dienno. Dienno is a Columbus native known for her vibrant colored watercolor, gouache florals, and moons. She has been challenging herself to paint a moon everyday during the month of February.

California born and Columbus based textual and visual artist, Vanessa Jean Speckman, will be set up offering a special in partnership with GLEAN of $15 on-the-spot hand-stamped leather dog tags.  You pick the words and Vanessa Jean will hand stamp the leather on site. This $15 special includes a leather dog tag with silver grommet and customer’s choice of silver keyring or silver beaded chain necklace. Swing by the shop the next day for pick-up, as the leather needs to be stained, dyed, and sealed before use.

The Essence of Hip-Hop Artist Showcase #2 starts off the evening at 2:00pm with $20 admission or advance tickets for $15. #Stoptheviolence Winter Breaker ’16 will be the second early show featuring DJ Hylyte at 6:00pm. Then, Get Right with DJ Giovanny will at Skully’s Music-Diner at 10:00pm and the event is 21+. No cover until 10:30 and then it’s $5.00 from 10:30pm-12:30am and a $10 cover from 12:30am-2:00am.
