Sean Christopher Gallery Ohio

Sean Christopher Gallery presents Allusions to Other by artist John A. Sargent III. This collection of paintings is representative of the questions and discoveries and recurring themes that have occupied many years of thought and expression. The questions regard the extent to which the assumptions and presumptions of existence can be discussed without lapsing into didactic or easy rhetoric, while maintaining accessibility for the viewer.

John A. Sargent III is an established Cleveland area-based artist and an alumni of The Ohio State University, receiving an MFA in painting (1988). He also attended Trinity College, Hartford, Connecticut, where he was awarded his BA in Studio Arts and American Studies (1984). Sargent’s paintings are in many Permanent Corporate and Public Collections including The Cleveland Clinic, Progressive Insurance and the US Supreme Court, to name a few. His artwork is widely acquired by Private Collectors as well, both nationally and internationally. The artist has built an impressive record of over 30 years of exhibiting in solo and group exhibitions. In addition to his solo exhibition here, Sargent has graciously agreed to be the Guest Juror for Sean Christopher’s upcoming February 2021 Tenth Annual Juried Young Hearts Exhibition featuring select artworks by students from the Columbus College of Art and Design.
